Remembering Srebrenica: 20 Years On – The Delegates' Cut

Nedžad was just 17 when the Bosnian Serb murder squads came to Srebrenica in July 1995. They shot him and left the teenager to die.

Somehow, he managed to survive and tell his story.

Hatidza lost her husband and two sons in the genocide. With other civilians, she had tried to find protection in the UN base at Potočari, only to find that Ratko Mladić’s troops had taken over and begun days of killing and torture.

The short film interweaves the thoughts and experiences of a group of people from Manchester, taking part in one of Remembering Srebrenica’s educational visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They reflect on the experience of meeting genocide survivors and women whose loved ones were murdered, as well as how the visit has inspired them to challenge hatred and intolerance on their return to the UK.
