It is important to continue to keep alive the memory of the 8,372 mainly Muslim men and boys murdered in the 1995 Srebrenica genocide, and to continue to counter hatred and intolerance in our own communities.

I was pleased recently to see the classroom resources offered by Remembering Srebrenica in collaboration with the PSHE Association added to the government’s counter extremism website, Educate Against Hate. This work could not be more important, which is why I welcome resources such as these that promote tolerance and help pupils to become knowledgeable and critical consumers of information.
