Sheffield Srebrenica Memorial Event
We would like to invite you to attend Sheffield’s first commemoration event for the Srebrenica Genocide that took place during the Bosnian War in July 1995. It will be a short civic event opened by the Lord Mayor and will feature speakers from Sheffield City Council and Sheffield’s faith communities. The event will be held in partnership with the UK charitable organisation Remembering Srebrenica, who are funded by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. Each year Remembering Srebrenica encourages local councils, faith organisations and communities to mark Srebrenica Memorial Week by hosting a community action which brings people together to remember the victims and honours the survivors.
