Buried Truth – Combatting Genocide Denial
Reflections of Forensic Archaeologist Abi Carter and Q&A Session
A forensic archaeologist by profession, Abi worked on evidence from the mass graves associated with the genocide in Srebrenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She is Co-Chair of the Wales board of the charity Remembering Srebrenica, and won the Board Member category of the Chwarae Teg Womenspire Awards 2019.
Abi is committed to the education of people in Wales, and beyond, through delivering speeches on hate crime awareness and community cohesion drawing on lessons from Srebrenica. She is a member of the South Wales Police Strategic Independent Advisory Group, and also holds an honorary role with the Royal Welsh Regiment.
For Srebrenica Memorial Day 2022, the Welsh Muslim Cultural Foundation are delighted to welcome Abi to present her reflections on this important topic, which is the theme for Remembering Srebrenica this year.
